As a fellow nearly-wed I know all to well how daunting bringing all of the elements for your big day together can be. Although we are very lucky to have an abundance of amazing suppliers, it can all seem a little overwhelming at times, hey?

Whether you can’t make decision on a design approach or have a clear idea in mind, we’ll work together to choose the right card, print finish and pretty extras to ensure your wedding stationery not only wows your guests but is that of your wedding paper dreams!

ORDERING & PAYMENT

How far in advance should we order?

As soon as possible, but don’t worry if you’ve left things a little late. I’ve worked with couples who have placed an order over 18 months in advance and those who have left it to just a few weeks before. I recommend booking early to guarantee your place, but if you are on a tight deadline, please email me first to ensure I can fit you in. You can reach me via hello@beckylord.co.uk.

Can we order samples?

Of course! You can order samples by clicking here. The price of a sample pack is fully redeemable against orders over £100. 

How long will it take?

On average, the turnaround for orders from The House Collection is approximately 1 – 6 weeks. Bespoke production times can vary depending on the design and print process.

Please remember, the speed with which I can fulfil your order also depends on how quickly you are able to respond emails and proofs. Printing cannot commence until you have signed off all artwork.

How do we pay?

For House Collection orders, payment can be made via PayPal, Credit or Debit Card. You’ll pay for your stationery when placing your order.

Bespoke orders will be issued an invoice. Payment can be made via BACS or PayPal for international clients.

How many should we order?

This depends on your guest list! 
One invitation per household is usually sufficient unless more than one couple resides at a house. 

I always advise you order at least 5 extra sets of invitations to allow for lost post. Should you need more, we can of course order more for you, however, the minimum order quantity does apply so you will find it much more cost effective to order a few extra.

Foil/Letterpress printed items would also be subject to an additional set-up fee should you need to re-order so it’s always best to order more initially.

Is there a minimum order?

A minimum order of 20 is required for both House Collection and Bespoke orders.

We’re not 100% sure on our final numbers

Quantities can be altered at any time prior to your stationery being sent to print. I fully appreciate guest numbers can be a tricky element so should you book in for more/less quantities than you actually need by the time we are ready for print, your final invoice would be adjusted to reflect this.

I recommend ordering at least 5 extra sets of invitations to allow for any additional guests or invitations lost in the post.

Will you showcase our invitations?

Sneak peeks, which shows only a small detail from your design, may be shown but I never show off any of my couples stationery, nor tag them in any pictures, in full until their guests have seen them. The full imagery will be added to my portfolio/social media sites either a few months after the invitations have been sent or after the wedding completely – this purely depends on how busy my social media schedule is at the time.

I’ll never, ever show your postal address(es). I always try to take photos of these out of focus, if they do remain in focus, they will blurred/blocked out during the editing process.

Should your wedding day require the utmost discretion, we’ll chat about what will/will not be showcased.

Please do ask if you’d love a copy of the images your invitations feature in!

How does it work?

My process is super simple:
1. You’ll confirm your order and pay upfront for House Collection orders of 50% for bespoke orders
2. Your designs will be produced, you’ll be given the opportunity to make two rounds of amendments.
3. You’ll receive card samples plus swatches of any foil, ribbons, embellishments etc…
4. Your stationery will be approved for printing and then whisked off for production.
5. As soon as your stationery is ready to send, I’ll be in touch to confirm a delivery day.

Can you help with wording?

Of course. During the design process I’ll use wording appropriate for the approach of your big day.

DESIGN & PRINT

What card will you use to print our invitations?

The House Collection is printed on 350gsm – 400gsm stock as standard. However, you have a variety of paper finishes to choose from. Paper for Bespoke stationery will be discussed during the design process.

Card stock is available up to 700gsm.

Do you print in-house?

I don’t print in-house. I want only the absolute best print finish for my couple’s stationery, and there is nobody better to handle this than a professional Printer.

Unlike other Stationer’s my couple’s stationery isn’t printed on a high-end office printer. It is outsourced to my personally hand selected Printers, those I trust to handle your stationery with a whole-lotta love but who also have the most excellent production system and tonnes of valuable knowledge.

Is there a fee for changes to the design?

I want your stationery to be perfect, so I always include up to two complimentary rounds of refinements. Any alterations made after this are charged at £45 per hour. 

Can we have our guest names printed?

Yes! This service is complimentary. All I will need from you is an Excel document detailing your guests names.

What happens if we don’t like the design?

The House Collection designs are sold as seen. No design alterations are made to these.

For bespoke orders, hopefully, this won’t be an issue! Upon booking, you’ll be asked to fill in a questionnaire designed to help me get to know you as a couple, gain an understanding of your overall vision for your wedding day and gather the key information I need in order to design your dream stationery. However, if you ultimately require any additional bespoke designs, then a further £200 will be required before any work is carried out.

Are envelopes included in our order?

Envelopes are always included. They can be neutral or in a colour that complements your design – the choice is yours!

Can we change the colour scheme?

Each and every design within The House Collection can be customised to suit your chosen colour scheme.

Colours for Bespoke stationery will be discussed when placing your order, but you are more than welcome to change them at any time. Please bear in mind that altering the colour scheme after you’ve received your proofs for the first time is classed as one of your two free design tweaks.

How accurate are the colours on screen?

Unfortunately it’s impossible for me to say that the colours on your screen will be exactly as that of your final printed invitations. All devices and screens display colours slightly differently. I recommend viewing your proofs on a desktop/laptop as opposed to your phone or tablet, just to ensure you are viewing the closest possible colour representation.

You are welcome to order printed proofs if you’d like to be 100% sure of the colours.

Can we alter the style of the wording?

I’m happy to adapt the wording of your invitations to suit the look and feel of your wedding. If you would prefer to take a more formal or informal approach to your stationery, just let me know.

We don’t like a typeface used in a design

As they have been carefully selected to complement the overall design, the typefaces used in The House Collection cannot be changed. If you are ordering Bespoke stationery, tweaks and perfections to the typeface are all included within your two complimentary rounds of amendments.

Should you request a specific font that is not within my current library selection, the cost purchase will be added to your final bill. This will of course be approved by you prior to purchase.

Do we get to see a printed proof?

Yes a fully mocked-up printed proof (including any embellishments or ribbons you have selected) is available for £25 as a digitally printed item or around £60 for a foil printed item. This fee applies due to the set-up process required by my printers.

If you’ve opted for a luxury finish such as foil or letterpress, the design will need officially signing off before a proof can be produced. Should you change your design after you’ve seen the foil/letterpress proof a further set-up fee will apply. This additional fee is variable depending on your chosen print finish.

You will also receive, free of cost, envelope samples, paper and/or foil swatches & samples of any embellishments or ribbons during the design process.

Can our return envelopes be pre-printed?

Should you book in for RSVP cards, your RSVP envelopes will come pre-labelled as standard. You’ll get to see a proof of these during the design process.

POSTAGE & RETURNS

How much is shipping?

Postage costs £8.95 per order, based on an average sized parcel of up to 5kg. For example, if you were to order a full range of invitations and on-the-day stationery to be dispatched at different times, you will pay two delivery charges. Samples and proofs sent in the post to you during the design process are complimentary.

Parcels over 5kg in weight will cost a little more, but we can chat about this when you book.

Do you offer a seal and send service?

Yes. This is charged at your desired postal service rate plus £50 per 100 invitations.

Do you accept returns?

Due to the personalised nature of designs, it is not possible to refund or exchange your items. I will only reprint an order free of charge if the items received do not match* the final proofs approved by you.

*This excludes colour matching.

We've noticed a mistake on our stationery

If you notice a mistake, please contact me as soon as possible to arrange amendments and reprints. Unfortunately, as noted in my Terms and Conditions, the responsibility for checking proofs falls to you, the client, so any reprints will incur a charge.

Do you ship internationally?

I have worked with couples all over the world! Please contact me for a custom shipping quote.

Do you over invitations lost in the post?

Unfortunately, invitations being lost in the post is beyond my control. I do however fully appreciate how frustrating it can be if a guest doesn’t receive an invite. I always advise ordering at least 5 extra sets of your invitations to allow for these occasions. By having these sets handy you’ll quickly be able to pop another copy in the post. Of course, it’s always possible to order more stationery but my minimum order of 20 does apply.

With the exception of samples and proofs, items sent from the BLD studio to you are sent via trackable courier/post.

Do you accept refunds?

Refunds are only issued on the basis no design work has begun. In this instance, a full refund will be issued.

If design work has begun, any time spent creating the design will be deducted at £45 per hour before a refund is issued.

Do we own the designs?

All designs remain copyright of Becky Lord Design. Purchase of any stationery item(s) does not transfer copyright of the design.
