FAQS
Need more details? You’re my kind of person.
From booking to my process and the technical side of things, you’ll most likely find the answers to your burning branding & website questions below. Don’t forget you can also find a full walkthrough of my process here and costs on my service page.
How do i book?
To start the booking process, please head here.
do you work with all industries?
Yes! I have clients working within a huge variety of industries from coaches, therapists, florists, creatives to luxury product based brands. I am always open to working with clients in a new industry (in fact, research and learning about a new industry is one of my favourite things to do!)
When you request to book, I always ensure we are the right match before confirming my availability with you. I’m always honest, so if I don’t feel I’m the Designer for you or your brand, I will always say.
YOUR CURRENT WAIT LIST?
For new clients, I’m currently scheduling in projects from April 2024.
For existing clients, please contact me for an update on my availability.
Is a rush service available?
All good things come to those who wait, right?
I don’t offer a rush service under any circumstances.
Fitting in a rush project means taking time away from my friends, family and downtime. No amount of money is equivalent to this time.
What's a project start date?
Your ‘Project Start Date’ is the date I will begin your project. Before then, you’ll have tasks and homework to complete but your project doesn’t officially begin until your Project Start Date.
CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?
Yes! All branding and website bookings are paid for via instalments.
For Elevate branding bookings, a 50% booking fee is taken to secure your date. The remaining balance falls due prior to me releasing your final logo files.
For Rise & Soar bookings, a 25% booking fee is taken to secure your date. You’ll then have three remaining instalments of 25% which are staggered throughout your project. The due dates for these will be detailed in your contract.
How do I pay?
Payment can be made via BACS or PayPal for international clients.
Is my booking fee refundable?
As projects are booked weeks in advance, I often have to turn clients away for your reserved time slot, if you back out this could leave an empty slot. As such, my booking fees are non-refundable. Your booking secures your place in my design queue and ensures you are serious about moving forward with our project.
When should I BOOK?
For brand only projects, you should choose a start date ideally 6-8 weeks before your ideal launch date. For website projects and Prosper brand bookings, 12-18 weeks before you plan to launch.
For website projects, I will need your content & imagery prior to your Project Start Date so something to keep in mind when working out your schedule.
Please note: my schedule is usually booked up 2-3 months in advance.
Do i have to sign a contract?
Yes, a contract is really important for both of us. It outlines exactly what we can expect from each other and lays down the foundations of your project. Don’t worry though – it’s nothing scary!
DO YOU work internationally?
Absolutely! I’ve created my process to be workable regardless of location and as such, my clients are located all over the world.
what if i miss my deadline?
I don’t want be too dramatic but missed deadlines have a knock on effect to my whole schedule. It also results in me missing out on new bookings to reschedule your project in further down the line, as a small business owner yourself I know you’ll understand the impact this can have on a business.
Therefore throughout the project, you will be set deadlines. You’ll be able to request one extension but otherwise, should you be late returning any feedback/work, late fees will fall into place but these will clearly be outlined in your contract.
DO I NEED TO BRIEF YOU first?
My initial booking form will gather the basics I need to know to ensure we are the right match but finer details will be covered during the first phase of our project.
ARE CHANGES FREE?
After you’ve received your first concepts you’ll have the opportunity to make up to two lots of refinements to one chosen concept only. Refinements only include minor tweaks & perfections to your chosen design and not full redesigns or new concepts.
You may like to see a combination of two concepts which is absolutely fine.
Once you’ve received your draft brand style guide you’ll then have the chance to make a further two rounds of refinements and up to two refinements on the colour palette.
What final files will I receive?
Your logos will be sent via Dropbox in:
• EPS (Vector)
• PDF
• JPEG for print
• PNG (transparent background)
• Black & White PNG’s
PSD files are not included within logo packs but Photoshop can open all of the above without a problem!
I want to use a specific font
I’m here to take you on a fabulous visual journey and a huge part of this invovles choosing font styles that work for your brand and brief. If you’ve already got your heart set on a specific font and can’t possibly budge on this, I’m not the Designer for you.
HOW MANY DESIGNS WILL I get?
For branding, you’ll initially receive two brand identity concepts. You’ll choose which you want to move forward with.
Your final logo pack will contain at least one logo and one logo icon but may include more depending on your final choices.
For websites, you’ll receive one design.
What if I don't like the logo?
It’s really important you read through the paperwork I send you and provide me with a full, clear brief. If you’re a skim reader, don’t have the time to invest in thinking about your brand or like to rush through everything, I’m not the Designer for you.
In the very unlikely chance you don’t happen to like anything I produce for you, additional designs can be produced at £250 per concept. This will be confirmed with you before going ahead. Payments will be required before any additional work is undertaken.
Can you just create 1 logo?
I don’t offer a single logo only service. When working with small businesses regularly, I know not only the importance but the convenience of having more than one version of a logo.
My elevate bundle is my brand-only service which covers everything a small business needs for it’s brand identity and ensures you have a logo version to hand for all occasions and a seamless look across all touch points.
How will you create my logo?
Logo designs are usually created with Illustrator. Depending on the design, I may create initial sketches on pen & paper. I also use an iPad for freehand, digital drawing.
Will I receive fonts?
How much should I allocate for font licensing?
Font licensing fees vary dramatically. From as little as £5 to upwards of £500, with some licensing requiring an annual subscription.
I recommend allocating at least £150 for fonts.
Please note: You will not need to purchase a font license in order to use your logo files. You will only need to purchase font license if:
1. You plan to build your website yourself
2. You want to use your fonts in Canva
3. You wish to design anything with your brand fonts (think stationery, packaging, marketing etc…)
Will I own the copyright?
The full ownership of your chosen logo and icons will be transferred upon final payment of your project fees. You’re welcome to register the logo as a trademark too!
As any creative, I will always retain the artistic rights to anything I create.
Can I have a photoshop file?
Photoshop’s purpose is for photo editing, not logo design. As such, you won’t receive a .psd (photoshop) file of your logo however, you’ll be able to work with any of the logo files included within your logo pack in Photoshop.
Can you help me with a name?
This isn’t where my expertise lies, instead I’d recommend reaching out to a Copywriter like Love Audrey for help on this!
Can you design stationery?
Absolutely! I love nothing more than diving into stationery, print and packaging projects with my branding clients.
Do you print in house?
I outsource all of my own and my clients printing to my fabulous printers. The printers I choose are selected because I am fully confident in their production, materials and trust them 100% with producing only the best final finish for our artwork.
CAN I PRINT THE DESIGN MYSELF?
You’ll be able to print most designs I create for you either at home or via your chosen professional Printer.
Can i see a print sample?
Print samples are possible however, they do incur a charge due to the set-up process. I can however arrange for card and foil swatches to be sent to you. These are generic swatches but are a great reference point.
How much is printing?
This varies quite a lot depending on the item, finish and quantity. I offer a Print Management Service should you wish for me to obtain quotes or handling the printing on your behalf. This service is £70 or complimentary for my branding clients.
Can you produce a word doc?
No, I don’t use Word for designing.
what platform do you use?
WordPress and I love it for many reasons. If it’s good enough for Beyonce, it’s good enough for me.
What domain will we use?
You choose! Ideally for SEO reasons it’s best to stick with your existing domain if you have one but your new website can be assigned to any domain of your choosing.
If you’re renaming your business or a completely new business without a domain name yet, I can help get you one set up.
IS HOSTING REQUIRED?
Yes, all websites will require WordPress hosting to be set up prior to me being able to start the design & development work. You can set this up yourself or I can do this on your behalf for an additional fee.
How much is hosting?
That really depends on your chosen host. As a guideline for a standard site (like mine), I’d recommend setting £5-£15/month aside for WordPress hosting.
Most hosting packages include the cost of a domain, emails and an SSL certificate within them.
If these aren’t included, expect to pay approximately £10/year for your domain and £80/year for your SSL certificate. However, it’s worth keeping in mind you will have to pay these costs regardless of which platform you choose for your website.
I’m always happy to recommend a host and help you through the set-up process once you’re booked in.
Where will my site be hosted?
This is entirely up to you! I’m happy to recommend my preferred providers but ultimately, the choice is yours.
Any hosting set-up will be registered in your name and you’ll be fully responsible for any fees incurred and renewals.
Does WordPress involve a subscription?
Although WordPress itself is free to use and there are no monthly or ongoing costs, you will need a domain, hosting and an SSL certificate.
Please see the above question for information on costs relating to these.
Um, setting WordPress up sounds scary, can you help?
Of course! I can help with the set up of your domains, hosting, SSL certificate and emails – just ask :-)
Please note: I don’t offer support for setting up emails on your chosen email client (i.e. gmail/iPhone…).
why do you need my website content first?
Working on a “content first” basis very simply means, before I start your project, I’ll need from you:
1. Your website copy; wording for every single page on your website
2. Images; including galleries/portfolios & product imagery if you have a shop
By working this way, it allows for more freedom in the design, no limitations on your copy and your Photographer doesn’t have to snap images to fit a very specific space. Overall, you get a much better designed website without having to make any sacrifices.
I work with the copy, rather than against it. I use your imagery to tell your brand story and your branding to bring everything together.
What access will I have?
You will be given Admin access to your website. This means you’ll be able to access every area on both the front and back end of your website – I don’t limit or restrict your access in any way.
How many pages are included?
Soar and Rise packages include the integration + design of:
1. Home page
2. Privacy Policy
3. Terms & Conditions, if required
4. Contact page
5. Up to 2 x galleries and their pages, if required
6. Blog, if required
7. Up to 10 x internal pages
Internal pages are usually utilised for your services, about, FAQ etc… but can be used for anything you need to include on your website.
If you need to add more pages on, this isn’t a problem! The website can have as many pages as you need it to. Give me a brief overview in your proposal request and I can ensure these are included in your quote.
Do I have to have a blog?
You don’t but I recommend you do. It’s not only great for SEO but serves as a back-up to social media and allows you to talk to your audience in more detail.
Can my blog be transferred?
Usually, yes!
If you’re currently on WordPress, it’s a definite yes and easy to move over.
If you’re not using WordPress, it still may be possible but it would be dependant on your platform. If it’s not possible, we can still add your current blog posts, it would just be a manual process.
Either way, leave me a note in your proposal request.
Can my site have forms?
Of course! From contact forms through to client on-boarding questionnaires, your bundle includes addition of up to 2 forms, and this includes the build of the page they are added to, but we can create as many as you need.
If you use a PMS system (such as Dubsado), we can also embed forms into the website.
do you work with a developer?
No, unlike others I handle the full design & development of your website. You will only ever work directly with me, yay!
WILL MY SITE BE CUSTOM MADE?
All WordPress sites require a “theme” to be installed. The theme used for your website would be bespoke to you/your brand.
The overall design and styling of your website will also be bespoke to your brand.
I want a freshen up of my site
If you have an existing website you are looking to freshen up here and there, this isn’t a service I offer. My website service is for full redesign & development of your entire website.
DO I NEED AN SSL CERTIFICATE?
Absolutely. Google will start to block your site and/or show your site as non-secure to visitors should you not have an SSL certificate installed. You can purchase a certificate from your WordPress host.
Are design updates included?
During the development stage, three rounds of amendments are included within the fee. Any updates/amendments requests required after the final invoice has been issued will incur a fee and these will be quoted for prior and confirmed with you to completion.
Post launch, any additional work you’d like me to complete will be quoted for, I’ll always be on hand should you prefer to hand updates over to me and I’d be happy to offer work on a retainer basis – just ask!
Can my site have a shop?
Absolutely! This starts from £300 depending on the quantity of products you need adding.
who will manage my shop?
Shop & order management is entirely down to you, I’m here to craft the beautiful site design for you! I do have a super helpful booklet on the basics to email across to you once the site is ready.
Should you feel you’d prefer to have the online store managed by me, monthly retainer packages are available.
will my site be secure?
WordPress have plugins to help keep the overall site secure and free from hackers. I’ll install one during the development and your Host will be able to offer additional security. I can’t guarantee your site will never be hacked.
Do try to keep all passwords as secure as possible and don’t share these with anyone. If you need an additional user added to your website, please let me know and I will set them up with their own username & password.
Will you write the content?
No, this is something you can either write yourself or hire a Copywriter to do on your behalf. I can highly recommend Franky of Love Audrey for all your copywriting needs.
Will be site be backed up?
For the first twelves months back-ups are complimentary, and are actioned on/around the 1st of each month. If you choose a good host, you may also find they keep a regular back-up.
You are absolutely welcome to do this yourself too – I recommend this is done monthly and stored securely.
CAN I CHOOSE A THEME?
No, I don’t work with pre-designed themes.
WILL I BE ABLE TO EDIT MY SITE?
Once the website is launched, you can be as hands on or off as you wish. You’re given full, free reign to edit your site as and when you please with, this includes editing content, galleries, posts, adding/deleting pages – aka everything. No areas will be restricted but do understand that any mistakes which need rectifying will incur a recovery fee.
However, I won’t be going anywhere post-launch so know I’ll be here if you’d rather hand over updates to me. I have clients who I hear from once/twice a year who happily update their site themselves and those I work with on weekly basis to keep their site looking fresh and beautiful – I’m flexible.
For even the least tech-savvy, WordPress is relatively easy to use and you’ll be given access to my online tutorials and guidelines. Of course, I can’t guarantee you’ll find it easy to use/update as everyones skill level with technology can vary.
what is site maintenance?
Just like a car, your website needs regularly maintenance to ensure it stays running smoothly.
All clients receive 12 months of complimentary WordPress and plugin updates from the date of launch. After this, you can renew or take over the maintenance yourself.
What about tech issues?
Hosting/Technical issues are something that is incredibly rare with WordPress and usually only occur when storage limits have been exceeded, an issue relating to your Hosting or something caused by user error.
If any issues arrise which are due to hosting or server issues, it is the responsibility of yourself and your host to resolve this. For any WordPress/Plugin issues, I have support packages available.
Are images included?
No, you source all of the site imagery. Whether this involves an organised photoshoot or stock imagery, I can recommend my favourite suppliers!
Is SEO included?
Basic SEO is included. This extends to:
• Optimising images for SEO
• Submission of your sitemap to search engines
• Installation of YOAST (SEO plugin)
• Link redirection, if required
Need extra or more indepth SEO help? I’m happy to recommend an SEO expert who specialises in your industry.
What about hidden, silo or landing pages?
These should be included within your page count.
If you have pages set up specifically for SEO which have the same template but different content (for example location based pages), I can either set up a template for you to populate yourself or you can add-on these pages to your booking. Initially, just let me know in your proposal request and we can talk in more detail.
Will my SEO be impacted?
Any changes to your website impact your SEO so yes, a full site redesign will impact your SEO but usually it’s only temporary. Whilst I can’t guarantee anything SEO wise, my clients tend to only see improvements to their Google ranking post-launch.
If you’re working with a Copywriter and an SEO pro, I recommend introducing both to ensure their goals for your website align.
Can I transfer SEO content?
SEO ‘content’ can really vary so it’s important you tell me what this means to you (for example, keywords, headings or plugins etc…).
For the content side of things, you’ll be given the opportunity to determine your H1-H6 headings and you’ll be providing me with your copy exactly as you want it to read.
For page URLs, I will follow the existing structure of your website. If we are deleting pages, I will ensure redirects are set up.
If you’re using WordPress already and utilising an SEO plugin, the content of this can easily be carried over. If you’re not, it may be possible to transfer elements such as Meta Titles/descriptions/keywords – just leave a me a note in your proposal request and I’ll be sure to include this.
